President F. Kramer called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Notice of the meeting was published in the Stapleton Enterprise on Thursday, February 8, 2024, and posted at five local businesses along with notice to the president of the board and all members prior to the meeting date.

President F. Kramer asked if there was any public comment and referred to the guidelines in the agenda. Duane McClain thanked the board for all they do and complimented Principal Johnson for all he does.

Discussion:
The treasurer's report was presented by Superintendent Redinger.

Community Liaison
Discussion:
Bryan Regier gave his Community Liaisons' report which included: Annual Chamber Banquet, and Spelling Bee was held January 31st with winner Dylan Heinemann and runner-up was Abi Torrez both in 8th grade. State Spelling Bee will be March 9th at UNO.

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
The Activities Director's report given by Jeremiah Johnson included the following: winter sports update, 3 girl wrestlers made State with congratulations to Mariah Duran, Saije Phelps and Marianne Zuniga, JH boys and girls basketball finished with a winning record and Coach Wipplinger, Arensdorf and Lovitt deserve kudos for their dedication and improvement of athletes, purchased and received shot clocks, new 2 year football schedule is out and officials secured, 10 participants in Speech and took 2nd overall at MNAC and kudos to Coach Burnside and Coach Hansen, April 27 and Sept 21 are UNL concession dates at Memorial Stadium for athletic department fundraiser, 6 high school and 12 junior high students out for quiz bowl, hosting local event on March 19, winter postseason parent/community meeting scheduled for March 5 at 6:00 p.m. in Tryon, Co-op board meeting scheduled for March 18 in Tryon and volleyball coaches positions have been advertised.

Discussion:
7-12 Principal Johnson's report included: winter MAPS testing underway, second semester observations to be conducted the last two weeks of February, creating senior signing day for all seniors, ESU #16 Edventure Day in Sutherland for staff on Feb 19, grades 9-10 taking Pre-ACT and juniors taking ACT on March 26, Great Plains Communications Outstanding Teacher of the Year nomination of Patty Stewart, and considering adaption of Canvas for all teachers.
PK-6 Principal Isom reported on the following: IEPs/MDTs/BIP/ELPA21, MAPS and NSCAS testing, kudos to Mrs. Burnside with Title I for such huge jumps in students reading scores, Accelerated Reader Celebration, Bingo for Books, Language Arts Curriculum adoption and goals to meet before the end of the year. |

Superintendent Redinger's report presented information on the following: NCAA wrestling March 21-22 Superintendent trip, NRCSA Spring Conference, kindergarten and preschool windows needing replaced, parking lot rock bid, NASB annual handouts, elementary staff professional day on February 20, building and ground items needing attention and future projects.
