Opening The Meeting

Call to Order
Discussion:
President Burnside called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

District Mission Statement: The Mission of Stapleton Public Schools is to support and prepare students to read with comprehension, compute mathematically, and utilize information and technology to create solutions for modern problems and to participate as sovereign citizens in our democratic society.

Discussion:
Notice of the meeting was published in the Stapleton Enterprise on Thursday, June 4, 2026, and posted at five local businesses along with notice to the president of the board and all members prior to the meeting date.

Public Comment and Recognition of Visitors
Discussion:
President Burnside asked if there was any public comment and referred to the guidelines in the agenda.
Jay Peterson addressed the Board regarding core curriculum and books in the library. He believes less computers and more use of books for students especially math. Duane McClain addressed the agenda item regarding the possible construction of a track and his support for it. He would also like to see a high jump approach installed. He also voiced support for our current Superintendent and the good job that he does. |

Discussion:
There was no Community Liaisons' report this month.

Activities Director Report
Discussion:
The Activities Director's report included the following: scheduling activities along with officials and contracts for 2026-27, attending a Bound "bootcamp" in North Platte with Mrs. Weems, and update on student/athlete activities this summer.

Principal
Discussion:
7-12 Principal report included: elementary spring concert, year ended well with finals, secondary had outdoor recreation day at Arnold Park, secondary helped with elementary field day followed by checkout and awards, teachers finished grades and PowerSchool was locked out, celebration for staff with a lunch for a job well done, taking summer course in school law and trip to Georgia to visit son in Air Force.
PK-6 Principal Isom reported on the following: Elementary Field Day and Award Ceremony went well with great organization by Mr. Deines, Science of Reading and DIBELS training, IEPs, IFSPs/ MDTs/ELPA21, NSCAS review and changes, reading/math/science changes with 90 minute block for K-6 reading, math program needed that builds K-12, library update, and a strategic plan is needed along with a board member to serve on library board. |

Superintendent Redinger's report presented information on the following: the how, what and why of successful community projects and fundamentals that make them successful, Southside drainage, and NASB Board Retreat on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
