Discussion:  President Opela called the special meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 6:37 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Discussion:  President Opela observed the Open Meeting Law requirements.

Discussion:  The Board conducted the Superintendent Evaluation.

President Opela adjourned the meeting at 7:15 p.m.

Discussion:  President Opela called the regular meeting of the Stapleton Public Schools Board of Education to order at 7:36 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.

Discussion:  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited and the norms read aloud.

Discussion:  President Opela and Superintendent Gaffney attended the State Board Convention.

Discussion:  Notice of the meeting was given in advance by the board approved method of meeting notice.  Notice of the meeting was given in advance to the president of the board and all members prior to the meeting date.

Discussion:  President Opela asked if there was any public comment and referred to the guidelines in the agenda.

Margaret Ann Neal, K-12 guidance counselor, presented her scheduled courses this year and what is being accomplished in her department.

Discussion:  The treasurer's report was presented by Superintendent Gaffney.

Discussion:  Lacy Kinderknecht gave her Community Liaison's report which included:  sharing parenting education through various media sources, Christmas concert with thank you to Santa and Community First Bank for partnering this event, Geography and Spelling Bee updates, Stapleton Foundation meeting set for December 18th @ 4:00 pm, and the Chamber of Commerce meeting on December 19th.

Discussion:  The Activities Director's report given by Tera Kostelecky included the following: Fall Sports Banquet, Academic All State awarded to Conner Phillips in football and Hannah Burnside and Trinity Hansen in play production, District One-Acts outstanding actors awards given to Hannah Burnside, Trisha Bernt, Keali Florea, and Trinity Hansen, winter sports beginning with placings in wrestling and basketball season has begun.

Discussion:  The minutes from the coop meeting were handed out.

January 22 is the Annual Board Member Workshop from 5-9 at NP Senior High School and February 5th is the budget and finance workshop in Kearney.

Discussion:  The board discussed the following items:  NASB updates, 2020-2021 school calendar, ALICAP summary report and the NRCSA reduced superintendent search agreement.

Discussion:  NASB updates were discussed.

Discussion:  Superintendent Gaffney's report presented information on the following:  ALICAP report, service elevator, ESU 15 & 16 ADCO meeting highlights, Rule 10, assistant wrestling coach and upcoming meetings.

Discussion:  Principal Walker's report included the following information:  school improvement goal, Targeted Improvement Plan for Special Education Students, Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale with our Preschool scoring a 5.24, social studies new standards, and school climate workshop.

Discussion:  The next regular board meeting will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. in the library at Stapleton Public Schools.
