Staff and student Presentations
Melissa Myers, secondary special education
Discussion:  Melissa Myers 7-9 special education teacher tries to include student in regular classroom as much as possible, but that is not always best for kids.  Sometimes they are pulled out.  She goes into the classroom at times with students to give them support.  Students also participate in activities such as the 8th grade one act.
Alex Wooten, vocal music
Discussion:  Alex Wooten is the vocal music teacher.  He is a new teacher out of Doane and feels like Tri County is a great place to start out.  He is meeting community members during concerts.  Elementary music is new to him and he is grateful for the new curriculum for support.  He is looking at adding to the junior high music library, he has used some elementary music there to add to resources.  They have traveled a lot with Honor Choirs this semester.  They went to Harvard for the first actual competition and learned a lot through that.  Junior High band and choir went to Malcolm for the first ever competition as well.
Brittany Siebrandt, 6th grade
Discussion:  Brittany Seibrandt is in her first year teaching 6th grade at Tri County.  She talked about how they have looked at their MAP scores, including strengths and weaknesses for kids.  How to group them so that they are best prepared for NSCAS.  As they moved into test week they had a pep rally to get kids pumped up.  Part of that included a parody video by the teachers.  They have met sense the pep rally to go over skills that still need instruction, tutorials on how to take the test and practice tests.
Tiffany Pearson, Speech state champion
Discussion:  Tiffany Pearson is the Poetry State Champion.  She presented her poem to the board.  Outstanding performance with a great message as well.
Recognition of Visitors/Communications from the Public
Discussion:  Tracy Holsing spoke to the board in regards to requesting the board to review and readdress the option enrollment policy.  He has one student here at this time as a freshman and wanted to bring his second son over, but cannot due to class size.

Stephanie Bales spoke to the board about possibly adding baseball as a high school sport (March 1-May 1).  She suggested the possible co-op with a neighboring school if we felt we do not have enough kids at this time.
