2. Update on Lincoln Elementary Construction Site
Discussion:
BTU gas heat was incorporated into the building on Monday and rock has started going up. The top of the building is on, which will enable duct work to beging. Caps are now being installed on the roof and the majority of the bricking is complete. The rubber roof over the mechanical area has been installed but has not been sealed. The gym area was enclosed yesterday and the North and West walls have been bricked. Thompson Glass has started installing the solar tube skylights but is waiting on their glass to arrive later this week. The conduit is being installed and a BenQ installation plan has been developed.
Data bids are scheduled to arrive by December 13th and included a 46 page addendum. A bid will be approved at the December Regular Board Meeting. Stearns stated that response has been good and he expects at least three quotes. Floor registers & ventilation were discussed, as was future committee decisions, wuch as playground equipment and surfacing, flooring options etc. Stearns strongly sugggested the district develope a maintnance program for the new building and stated that training will be provided. After discussing pros and cons, the district will determine if maintenance will be provided by school staff or outside agencies.
The architects are very pleased with the progress at the site. Hague stated that the tour with the Lincoln staff went well. The exterior work is done until approximately March until the weather warms up.
Applications for payment from Hewgley & Associates and Anderson Shaw were examined and discussed, as was the latest change order.
