2. Nebraska State Science Standards
More Information:
Recommendation from the Curriculum Committee to adopt the 2017 Nebraska State Science Standards.
Discussion:
The committee spent time discussing the new Nebraska State Standards. The major change was the addition of topics dealing with climate change. The standards are adopted by each school district within the state as part of the Rule 10 requirements. We as a district will spend time reviewing these standards and adding our additional desires. This will then be brought to the BOE as the Gering Science Curriculum at a later date. Assessment on these standards will begin in the 2020-2021 school year. This allows us time to prepare, although it will come fast. The Curriculum Committee is recommending the Gering Board of Education adopt the 2017 Nebraska Science Standards. |
