3. Reports and Discussions

3.1. 2019-2020 Board of Education Goals

Discussion: Discussion was held on board goals developed earlier.

The board annually reviews the district's vision and mission statements, adopting board and district goals to support the mission.
- Review and monitor the district strategic plan to ensure progress and success is realized.
- Update the district strategic plan and monitor progress success.
The board establishes effective communication with stakeholders through actively engaging parents, students, staff, and community members with the intent to promote the district's image, build positive working relationships and sustain long-term partnerships that serve and support education.
- Conduct community engagement to engage both internal and external stakeholders to grow and foster a positive working relationship and align the district stakeholders' expectations with district goals.
The board continuously monitors the progress of district goals utilizing data to support growth and promote shared accountability for maximizing student achievement.
- Identify and review data components to be presented to the board to assess growth and progress of student academic achievement district wide.
- Utilize a board annual calendar to monitor goals.
The board will establish and sustain a professional and collaborative working relationships to support and advocate for growth and student achievement.
- Study and assess the value and purposeful integration of a monthly work session to support the board and superintendent preparation for monthly board meetings and provide a mechanism to address hot topic matters in a timely and appropriate manner.

The board will take formal action to adopt the goals at the March board meeting.
