9. Board Comments
Discussion:
Brent Holliday opened remarks enthusiastically praising the visionaries at GHS for sharing their time and talents with the curriculum committee. He is excited to see the implementation of those new class offerings. Josh Lacy congratulated Lisa Rimington and Megan Pieper on each of their recognitions. His students have had Mrs. Pieper as a teacher, so he has witnessed firsthand that "she truly puts students first!" Josh also highlighted athletic accomplishments noting the GHS wrestling team was sending nine wrestlers to state competition. Mary Winn added "who would have guessed we would even have wrestling this year?" Although the school year has been unique, she excitedly noted that it has been exciting to be able to visit schools and recognize staff members for their resiliency. The speech competition recently hosted at GHS was a great success with more functionality in the new commons area. Brian Copsey also shared his appreciation for the facility updates as GHS hosted District Wrestling. B.J. Peters stated he had seen the board members more than his own spouse some days. Many hours have been invested this year with all the heavy lifting, but exciting things are coming. We have a tremendous staff and programs in place. Our Samsung team has advanced to the next state of competition again. Our wrestling team is ranked #1 again, and our speech team is dominating. "The future is bright, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you, volunteers!!" Peters said. The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
