Raptor Reunification Training:
- Raptor Reunification Training Date: March 9, 2023
- Thoughts on the training?
- Continue using Raptor system
  - Use the Accountability function when we run drills to continue to increase the comfort level for the staff using Raptor
  - Next school year make more effort district wide to increase the drill use of Raptor

2nd Semester Drills

Phil Chalmers - Profiler of teen killers
- Interviewed every teen killer in the last 20 years
- Has built a profile for the next teen killer

Potential Fall 2023 Student Assemblies
- DEA field officers from Omaha would like to come and present on recent drug trends and educate our students about the recent drugs
- Jim Weber who brought the Human Trafficking trailer would like to return with the help of NSP Trooper Flick and present on Human Trafficking. Jim Weber has sold the trailer display so it would just be a presentation.

June 28th - MPD doing Active Shooter training in MJH.

Vision Statment

Vision Statement
1. Developed by the school improvement committee, Every McCook Public School graduate will possess the skills to become a responsible, respectful, and productive citizen who is engaged in their community and achieves personal success.

Staffing & Recruiting

The teachers shortage is impacting school districts across the state, and McCook has not been immune to this unfortunate trend.
The District has attended more than 6 recruiting fairs this year in an attempt to widen our net to attract talent to McCook to teach.
- We have had some success at the recruiting fairs the past couple of years.
Although we have sent out several contracts this week to new hires, we are still looking for teachers for several positions. We are also starting the process of looking for teachers internationally.
- There are potential opportunities to hire teachers from other nations where teachers are more abundant.
We will also be hiring teachers outside of their endorsed area when it is clear no other options are available.

Science Materials Adoption

The district is close to finalizing a deal with one of two science material publishers. At this point, we are working through the costs and trying to come to an agreeable price.
It is our belief that we will have an agreement prepared for board approval by the May board meeting.

10. Positive Comments

Discussion: Scott Barger's positive comment was MPS wellness committee hosted the March Madness step contest. He also gave a thanks to Stephanie Gaulke for her time as a educator in McCook.
Tom Bredvick's positive comment was McCook elementary PTO carnival and fun night.
Brad Hays' positive comment was on the SPED department. They have had lots of challenges and are to be commended for all their efforts.
Teresa Thomas's positive comment was that Mr. Borland does such a great job greeting kids and getting to know them.
Charlie McPherson's positive comment was about the raptor training and safety team for all their efforts.
Mike Langan's positive comment was that the band's concert was outstanding. He also commented on how great the state FFA program was and how McCook gets a lot of notoriety.
Jeff Gross's positive comment was towards all the work that Mr. Dickes put into getting the ACT and PRE/ACT pulled off with weather delays and change of schedule.
Grant Norgaard's positive comment was about destination imagination, and that McCook Central Elementary had a team qualifying for the global finals by placing 2nd in the state finals.
