Discussion:
Ms. Doggett: math world is running smoothly; new class this year - intervention math and reading class - jr high - utilizing Study Island program; MAP testing started last week; posted some great math scores; several classrooms using flexible seating; NeSA scores will be available the end of the week; Jrs will no longer take the NeSA test, they will take the ACT test - starting Spring 2017. Ms. Keough: went to state fair and marched - great time; Saturday is UNK Band Day for Jr High; next Saturday is Fall Festival - march in parade; following Saturday is Harvest of Harmony - march in parade; good turn out for band this year and doing great things. MCYC - invitation to Nov 7 presentation at the PAC in Central City, grades 8-12. |

Discussion:
Mr. Morris: 2nd/3rd day of school - student handbook review - hot topics were cell phone use, water bottles/drinks, unexcused absences, dress code, cheating/plagiarism, down list; Tiger Notes - 7-12 students split among secondary teachers; Daily Facebook posts between high school and elementary; MAP testing thru the 23rd; curriculum mapping project - example of how it is working and explanation of meeting state standards. Mrs. Loeffelbein: MAP testing as well - will be done this Wednesday; CPAA (K-2 testing) will start testing soon; AIMS (Spec Ed) ongoing testing; Reading Street - teachers are figuring out how to utilize - few glitches; flexible seating in 2nd grade - going really well and kids are enjoying/sharing; special education - transition IEPs held when students move into district; 504s - accommodations and modifications for injuries and illnesses. |

Discussion:
Angela Weller: parents unable to walk students down to the classroom, who decided and why? - taxpayer would like to see what's going on his classroom; taking book bags outside - what if something is broken or taken?; don't even know what flexible seating is; confrontation was done in lobby in front of other students and staff; taxpayers and parents don't see flexible seating.
