Katelyn G/Gunner R/Drake K/Stacy B- school attorney visited and reviewed sexting, cyber bullying choices/punishments; eye opening; interesting to hear from attorney stand point; very good assembly for students to hear; would be great for parents to hear as well.

Mrs. Shotkoski: 
Early Childhood - 3/4 yr olds: build peer relationships and acclimate to school setting vs home setting; responsiblility and fostering independence; developmentally appropriate play; 4/5 yr olds: building blocks for Kindergarten; continue fostering independence; letter of the week using Letter People; letter/number recognition; creative/imaginative thinking; school visiting to familiarize w/staff and building. Very lucky to have the preschool program in our community.

Mrs. Hake:
Kindergarten is the new 1st Gr: curriculum has changed and a lot of previous 1st grade curriculums have been moved to the Kind curriculum.  Preschool across the hall is beneficial to these Kinders as they are at an advantage. Visual phonics are vital to helping students learn sounds; able to build off PK learning.  Keep promoting early childhood program because it's so amazing and beneficial to those kids going into Kindergarten.
KinderWorld - two sections w/12 per class; great progress; small class size helps; Hake/Rasmussen work together to plan their day; new soc studies curriculum is a hit; UNK visitor each Monday - amazed w/Palmer, visited many schools but Palmer is wonderful.
2PC - students earn house shirts this year; House Days are a surprise this year - announce morning of; excited to hear more from colleagues about recent RCA trip.

Loeffelbein:
HAL started last week - Hake/Rasmussen book club - raised the % this year - 11 3rd graders, 7 4th graders, 5 5th graders, 6 6th graders; Discovery Kids has some very neat sessions - reviewing choices/goal setting - hope to cont in Spring; PT confs next week; Fall Book Fair during PT confs.

Morris:
new science standards - science texts next yr - alignment; RCA trip - thank you for sending - RCA is growing, added 2 teachers - observed teachers & workshops - high standards & high energy from both teachers and students; PT confs next week; MAP testing done; Tiger Notes cont'd - positive reinforcement postcard sent home.
