I. Meeting Minutes
Discussion:
Attendees: Dr. Hoesing, Kerri Jo Krivohlavek, Mr. Grammer, Mr. Pavlik
Agenda Items:
1. Webpages: We discussed progress on recent developments on the district webpages. The board page has a link for board and committee meetings. We also discussed the need to put those links on the building pages. http://meeting.nasbonline.org/public/Agency.aspx?PublicAgencyID=4344&AgencyTypeID=1
2. Board Policies: The board policies have been uploaded as html pages on our district website. This allows public access to our board policies. It also allows policies to be searchable and translated into other languages. The link is available on the board page or can be typed into the address line: http://schuylercommunityschools.org/page/2639
3. Electronic Files: We discussed the process for creating electronic files from our current paper files at the central office. Kerri Jo will work with vendors to get bids on central office files. If the board decides to move forward with this recommendation, we may be able to expand to building level files in the future.
4. Technology Workshop (NETA): The fall NETA conference will be held in Kearney on October 2nd and 3rd. The principals have selected 14 teachers, 6 administrators, along with Jeff and Kerri Jo will be attending the sessions. We will be working on initial technology planning and discussing training needs at SES, SMS, and SCHS buildings.
5. Technology Support: The group discussed our present technology support program and staffing required to meet the needs of students and teachers. We also discussed the need to expand our district website to improve both internal and external communication across the district. It was agreed that the team selected to attend the conference would review our present technology support at each building and develop a plan to improve this support.
The group also discussed the need to provide workshops/training for students, staff, and parents. The group's recommendation was to bring this topic to the conference participants and ask for input on strategies/presenters to assist the district with this process.
