I. Discussion Items
Rationale:
1. Finance/Budget Report: Budget and finance reports are attached to the board meetings. 2. 2023-24 Extra-Duty Contracts: The principals and Activities Directors are working on the 2023-24 extra-duty contract assignments. Our goal is to have them out to staff the week of May 15th. 3. Safety Update: The new telephone system installation will begin at the closure of the school year. We are in the bidding phase of the camera replacement included in our ESSER III Application. Nesbitt & Associates will be updating our classroom flip charts this summer for the 2023-24 school year. 4. Strategic Plan Update: Members of the District Leadership Team are working on updating the completed action plans for the spring of 2023. 5. Mental Health/Behavior Health Grant: We are a recipient of a Mental Health/Behavior Health Grant with a consortium of schools from ESU 2. This grant will offer the opportunity for Para educators to pursue a teaching credential and teachers to participate in advanced programs towards a licensed mental Health Certification. More information to come as we confirm the requirements of the grant. 6. Summer Employment: We will have many opportunities for support staff to be considered for summer employment in custodial, food service, and each of the summer sessions. See your building principal if you want to be considered for summer employment. 7. Requisitions/Inventory: Coop orders are arriving at this time. Other requisitions were due April 30th and are under review at this time. Inventory must be updated before June 1st. 8. Building/Summer Projects: We are working on the 2023 update to the transportation and building and grounds programs. See File Maker: Buildings and Grounds, Vehicle Replacement, and Large Equipment Replacement. 9. Hiring Process for 2023-24 Staff: Principals are currently advertising and interviewing candidates for open teaching positions. 10. Teacher Resignations: The continuing contract law is basically in protection of teacher contract rights. However, after April 15th, all staff is under contract for the next school year and must ask for release of contract after that date. Our board policy does allow for a release of contract, without conditions, until May 1st. After that, the board may hold the teacher to the contract or may release upon conditions set by the board. |
