I. Discussion Items
Rationale:
1. Parent-Teacher Conference Report: See parent teacher conference reports on the building principals' board reports. 2. Staff observation and evaluation: October staff observation calendars are due. Please submit your supervision and evaluation scheduled for November and December. All newly hired teachers and probationary teachers must have a minimum of one full period of observation during the first semester. This observation must be followed up with a first semester summative evaluation and conference. Probationary teachers are all teachers in their first three years of employment with the district. Tenure occurs with the offering of the fourth contract. If you have any concerns about a teachers performance that would lead to a non-renewal or contract termination, principals must inform Dr. Hoesing before January 1st, 2015. 3. Strategic Planning Discussion: We are in the process of completing documents for the 2015 strategic planning process. Principals are to review the document presented at the meeting and provide any updates by Thursday, November 6th along with your reports for Monday's board meeting. 3. Book Discussion: The Richest Man in Town: Principals discussed the highlights of the book which focused on: 1) don't underestimate the impact of random acts of kindness, 2) relationships matter most in life, 3) take time for people, it's people not programs that matter, 4) show genuine interest in others, really listen to them, 5) don't be too quick to judge others, time is your ally 6) have a short memory, don't stay angry 7) consider both sides of an issue, the customer is always right, 8) sometime you need to do a little more, 9) people need to decide to be happy, 10) only you can make you happy. Thanks to the administration for reading and sharing the book. We secured a contract with V.J. Smith to do a staff workshop on January 12th. V.J. will do the afternoon session. |
