Six visitors were present. Administrators Mr. Gegg, Mr. Kenton and Mr. Wieseler were present.

No requests to address the board

Mr. Gegg reported on the financial status of the district

Mr. Gegg reported

• Would like the building and grounds committee to meet before next board meeting
• SPED Proportionate Share Report was submitted and approved by NDE.
• Contracted with Janes Consulting to revamp our webpage.

Mr. Kenton reported

• Current Enrollment PK - 6th Grade: 151 Students
• Professional Development information; December 6th, teachers worked on designing lessons around MAPS data. December 20th, Mrs. Pope will present to the staff on how to utilize Testwizard, a formative assessment piece from NDE. Miss Hubbert and 6 sixth graders attended the 2017 Elementary Science Olympiad @ ESU 10 on December 8th.  Jan. 3rd Professional Development Day: Math review of curriculum (SIP Math Goal), Learning walk review (SIP Climate and Culture Goal), Instructional model group work (SIP Climate and Culture Goal)
• Community Involvement; TEAMMATES Soup Supper was held on December 8th. We had a fantastic turnout and raised around $900. The fundraising money will help pay for mentor background checks and mentor/mentee activities.
• Assessment; FastBridge middle of the year benchmark assessments were held on December 12th and 14th. We utilize the information from the assessments to identify students who need additional support through our MTSS process.

Mr. Wieseler reported

• 7-12 Enrollment - 141
• HS staff did learning walks with Dianah Steinbrink on Dec. 12th
• Inservices: Dec 20th - Crisis Team Meeting and Formative Assessment Training w/ Jeanne Pope.  January 3rd, Safety & Wellness Committee meetings, Math Review (Math Team o Learning Walk Purpose (K-12 Staff), Instructional Model.
• ACT Test Prep Program:  SHS will be opening an ACT test prep class that will take place during Bulldog Prep beginning in January and going up until the test in April. Open to all Juniors and Sophomores.
• Semester Tests:  12/19 and 12/21.  Study Day on 12/18 and a make up day on 12/22
• Winter Sports/Activities:  Dec. 13th - FFA District Leadership Contests • Moratorium is December 23 to December 27 • Dec. 28th & 29th - Silver Lake B&G Holiday Tournament • Dec. 30th - Wood River Wrestling Tournament

Open discussion about the future for FFA greenhouse. Abby Carmen and Rick Pope FFA Booster members spoke about fund raising and thanking for the return of the program.

Presentation by David Goebel of AMERESCO Inc. about energy efficiency project feasibility study done for Shelton district and what their company could do for district and future projects.
