7. Admnistrative Reports

7.1. AYP Update
|
7.2. Certified/Classified Staffing
Rationale:
Data indicates that we have 46 students who qualify for ELL/Migrant Program in grades K-12. That accounts for about 12.5% of our student population. This language and culture barrier has an impact on student success in the classroom.
With the addition of full day PK we have also lost our High Ability Learner teacher because Sarah Crane does not have the time to oversee the program. This program has funding but we can not utilize it without a teacher. I would like to pursue an ELL/HAL teacher at 1.0 FTE for the District. We do have a qualified candidate who interviewed for one of our vacant elementary positions. |

10 Passenger 2005 Chevy Express for $13,900 10 Passenger 2012 Chevy Express for $23,000 |
9.3. Vehicles as Surplus
|
9.4. Approve the upgrades to the wireless networks at the Rising City and Shelby sites for $7,600
|
9.5. Mid-Term Graduation Request
Rationale:
Joanne Olivas transferred in from New Mexico as a senior and would like to graduate mid-term. She currently has 240 earned credits and is enrolled in 35 this semester so she will be totaling 275 by the end of this semester - over the requirement by 15 credits. If need be, please ask the Board to also consider that she is expecting a baby in late February so we could probably anticipate some issues with attendance second semester if she does not graduate mid-term.
Board Policy 2.1 The Board of Education reserves the right to waive the eight (8) semester requirement if the student has 260 credit hours of work. 2.2 If a student would like the Board of Education to consider a waiver of the eight (8) semester requirement, the student and/or his/her parent/guardian must be on the Board Agenda on or before the April regular meeting. 2.3 The Board of Education decision is final. |
10. Set Dates
|
11. Executive Session
Rationale:
The Board may enter into closed session at any time to discuss any matter for which a closed session is lawful and appropriate. We have legal matters that need to be handled in closed session. Before the Board can enter closed session, a motion must be made in agreement with Statute 84-1410 by the Board to discuss topics such as personnel, negotiations, and legal matters. |
12. Adjournment
