Discussion:
Mrs. Johnson attended Battle of the Books and Seymour Carnival. Mrs. Gerch attended the National School Board Conference in Denver. THey learned a great deal about inspiring our students and that every student matters. Mrs. Richards further discussed the National Conference and learning opportunities with other state delegates. Mrs. Rodgers was very motivated and encouraged by the sessions and what the future holds for Ralston.

Margaret Hersheiser and Scott Keene will give us an update at the next meeting. Karen Western suffered a water main break today. Our students had to be evacuated to Ralston Arena. Mr. Smith provide a Winter Activity update for the Board. Wrestling, BB, Swim and Dive, Show Choir, Drama and Speech are traditionally winter events. He puts out a weekly newsletter on the website. A discussion of the high amount of blue cards with Basketball and how this is handled. We have them for athletics, but the question was raised if blue cards are given out for other types of activities like Show Choir or Debate. Ms. Richards raised the question regarding inconsistency of recognition of members in athletics vs. activities. Athletic participants get recognized as opposed to others.

Discussion:
Dr. Welte and Ms. Wilken updated the Board on Option Enrollment following the March 15 deadline. The number is just under 3,000 and they are expected to grow in July and August, when there is a big jump. Dr. Adler said that they are potentially asking the Board to revise some of the Elementary school boundaries in the future.

Dr. Adler discussed Instructional Time with the Board, which is how we handle snow day make-up. We had 3 days, 2 actual student days because one was a staff day. Staff will be expected to make up 1.5 days during week of May 22-26 and move the other 1.5 days to the fall for the week August 7-11.
