Public Comment Sign In Procedure - Anyone wishing to address the Board of Education must submit a written request form, found on the public’s table, prior to Public Comments.

The Board reserves the right to move into closed session to protect the public interest or needless injury to the reputation of an individual for any action item listed on the agenda. The Board may, at its discretion, change the order of the agenda to accommodate unforeseen issues related to an agenda item.

The Ralston Board of Education appreciates the public's right to provide public comment.  It is the practice of the Ralston Board to listen to the public comment, without discussion between the public and the Board.  Should you have a question or ask for follow-up from the Board, the Board President will direct the Superintendent to address the requests and provide additional information to you as appropriate.  We ask that you refrain from personal comments about individuals and the use of vulgar or inappropriate language in addressing the Board. 

At this time the Ralston Public Schools Board of Education will entertain public comment.

Rationale:  Dr. Josh Wilken and Mr. Andrew Mather will present the Karen Western
Elementary AdvancED School Improvement plan to the Board of Education.

AdvancED Standard 2.5 - Educators implement a curriculum that is based on high expectations and prepares learners for their next levels.  Board Policy 2.5, Curriculum Development and Assessment.

Rationale:  Ms. Wilken and Dr. Welte will provide an update on the District Achievement Plan with the Board of Education that includes information about student performance and assessment measures.

Rationale:  Mr. Mike Smith will visit with the Board of Education about the processes he uses to evaluate head coaches at Ralston High School as well as the processes he uses in reviewing and evaluating the different aspects of the activity program.

AdvancEd Standard 3.4 The system attracts and retains qualified personnel who support the system's purpose and direction.  Policy 4039 Employment of Classified Staff.

Rationale:  Mr. Buckingham will review current pooled cash levels for the District with the Board of Education and discuss his recommendation for Depreciation Fund transfer amounts to be acted upon in August 2018.

Rationale:  Dr. Adler, Ms. Wilken, and Dr. Welte will review the opening schedule of events and professional development opportunities and requirements with the Board of Education as we kick off the 2018/2019 school year.

Rationale:  Mr. Buckingham will outline further developments and the progress made on the 2018/2019 District Budget.
