Public Comment Sign In Procedure - Anyone wishing to address the Board of Education must submit a written request form, found on the public’s table, prior to Public Comments.

The Board reserves the right to move into closed session to protect the public interest or needless injury to the reputation of an individual for any action item listed on the agenda. The Board may, at its discretion, change the order of the agenda to accommodate unforeseen issues related to an agenda item.

The Ralston Board of Education appreciates the public's right to provide public comment.  It is the practice of the Ralston Board to listen to the public comment, without discussion between the public and the Board.  Should you have a question or ask for follow-up from the Board, the Board President will direct the Superintendent to address the requests and provide additional information to you as appropriate.  We ask that you refrain from personal comments about individuals and the use of vulgar or inappropriate language in addressing the Board. 

At this time the Ralston Public Schools Board of Education will entertain public comment.

Rationale:  Dr. Tiffanie Welte and Dr. Josh Wilken will update the Board of Education on the progress of the blueprint Program as well as share thoughts about the blueprint Strategic Plan.

AdvancEd Standard 2.6 The system implements a process to ensure the curriculum is aligned to standards and best practices.  Policy 6003 Instructional Program.

Rationale:  Mike Smith and Jason Fink will be on hand to discuss several topics concerning the District Activities Program to include wrapping up Winter Sports, the state of Spring Sports, and future planning in relation to facilities, safety, and activities conference affiliation.

Rationale:  Ms. Richards will provide learning and collaboration opportunities for the Board of Education to include an upcoming School Law for Board Members Workshop.

Dr. Adler, Mr. Buckingham, and Mrs. Richards will update the Board regarding Legislative issues.

Rationale:  As a result of contract negotiations between the Board of Education and the Ralston Education Association, the Administration asks for the approval of the proposed 2019-2020 Ralston Education Association Negotiated Agreement.

The Board and Administration will review proposed policies.

Rationale:  The Administration asks that the Board of Education approve the proposed changes to Policy 2009 Public Participation at Board Meetings as presented.

Rationale:  After consultation with our legal policy service it is recommended that the Board of Education remove policy 6048 Guidance Program.  Our legal advisors have recommended removal of this policy as guidance for this area is outlined in Nebraska Department of Education Rule 10.
