7.1. Purchase of New Firewall for District IT Security (Action)

Rationale:
The district's current firewall is at the end of its current life and an upgrade is needed over the summer. This upgrade will be primarily paid for using eRate funds from the Federal Government. The length of the lease is 60 months. An RFP was issued for this project, and three vendors successfully completed the bid. One vendor failed to meet the requirements of the RFP and was excluded. The three bids were from Sterling for $72,950, from Integrated Partners for $85,000 and a bid from Cox for $149,790. The Administrative team recommends awarding the bid to Sterling as they were the lowest bidder, and we have had experience working with that company.
