Discussion:  Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Board of Education President Maahs 

Discussion:  Superintendent Hart gave a Power Point presentation over the upcoming budget approval and tax request hearing process scheduled to occur at the September 14th regular board meeting.

Highlights of the presentation included:

• Specific goal statements from the board developed superintendent evaluation document related to budget.
• Legislative update regarding current bills and upcoming laws.
• Guiding principles, goals, and specific focus areas for the upcoming budget.
• Summary of the budgeting process and utilization of the various taxing funds.
• Historical data trends on state aid, district levies, property valuations, bond funds, and tax asking requests.

Board discussion was related to questions about year to year staffing costs, option enrollment, district boundaries, and future growth by neighboring districts. 

 

Discussion:  Superintendent Hart updated the board on the district "Return to School" plan.

Discussion centered around "remote learning" for students, activities expectations and capacity limitations at indoor and outdoor events, random drug testing protocols, district responses to potential COVID-19 exposure and protocols for positive test results, staff development and calendar adjustments for curriculum planning, and staff and community feedback on the R2S plan.
