2. Public Input: This is your opportunity to provide the school board with input relative to the proposed 2010-2011 Budget Amendment.
Discussion:
Dr. Barnes explained that due to changes in the state aid formula for 2011-12, the school district is amending the current year budget to access unused budget authority. Changes to the formula will limit our ability to access budget authority in future years so we feel an amendment at this time is necessary. The proposed amendment will decrease our necessary cash reserve by $2,500,000 and increase our total general fund budgeted disbursements and transfers by $2,500,000. The amendment will not increase the 2010-2011 amount of property taxes.
