4.A. Discuss Fall Community Meetings about Historic Preservation 
Discussion:
There was discussion about hosting a Fall community event to help provide education on the history of Crete. 
Historic Preservation Commission member Janet Jeffries stated that they should discuss the procedure in case please ask about getting their homes registered. 
There was discussion on holding the meetings at the Crete Public Library or during community events such as the Great Pumpkin Festival. 
Historic Preservation Commission Chair Tom King stated that this would be an introductory meeting to the whole process to educate the community on historic preservation.

4.B. Plan a general public meeting at City Hall about our commission and with some general information about our duties as a commission. Review CLG. 
Discussion:
Historic Preservation Commission Chair Tom King stated that after the introductory meeting they would plan a public meeting at City Hall.  This would be an opportunity to introduce the commission to the public and discuss the duties as commission to the public. 
City Administrator Tom Ourada stated that a lot of this is already in the Ordinance and how to do these things. Ourada suggested that the commission break this into a couple of meetings to keep them short and lay out expectations. 
Looking at possibly October 26th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. for the first meeting date at the community room.

4.C. Develop a date and time for a bigger community meeting with a slide show about Historic Preservation. (National, State, and now local) (Library Community Room) 
Discussion:
Historic Preservation Commission Chair Tom King stated that they could set up a calendar for the introductory meeting, general public meeting and then the bigger community meeting. 
There was a discussion about building upon the first meeting and inviting the people that attended the first meeting and others who were not able to attend.

Discussion:
The Historic Preservation Commission will discuss this further during the August 26th, 2025 meeting at 7:00 p.m.

4.E. Consider Kendra Ordia's resignation from the Crete Historic Preservation Commission. 
Discussion:
Historic Preservation Commission Chair Tom King stated that it is unfortunate that they are losing Kendra Orida as a member of the commission. There was discussion on a possible replacement for Ordia. City Administrator Tom Ourada stated that this would be a Mayor's appointment. King stated that Janet Jeffries suggested Tom Reeves as a possible member of the Historic Preservation Commission.

Rationale:
  • Citizen testimony may be limited to 3 minutes per person.

Discussion:
City Administrator Tom Ourada reminded the Historic Preservation Commission the beginning of next year they will be submitting a report on the activities of the commission. 
Commission member Janet Jeffries asked City Administrator Tom Ourada if they could have a form ready. Jeffries showed the form she put together from a variety of other forms. 
Ourada explained that they could put that on the agenda for the next meeting or they could look at the form tonight and it can be formatted with the correct City logo. 
Commission Chair Tom King stated that at the next meeting they will review and discuss the form. 
The next Historic Preservation Commission meeting will be on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
