Discussion:
Police Chief Steve Hensel explained that they are applying for just over $5,000 to pay officers for overtime during the Click It or Ticket campaign. If they receive less than that, the department will scale down hours worked to the amount provided.

Recommend to the City Council to authorize the Police Chief to apply for a NDOT Highway Safety grant as part of the national Click It or Ticket campaign from May 23 to June 5. Carried with a motion by Dale Strehle and a second by Jack Oelschlager.

3.B. Discuss visibility issues at the northeast corner of 13th St and Norman Ave.
Discussion:
Police Chief Steve Hensel presented photos of the intersection in question and is requesting to possibly close that parking space. When bigger vehicles are parked in front of the martial arts studio, visibility is very poor for vehicles on the north side of the intersection trying to cross or turn onto 13th Street. It was suggested to try 'compact car parking only' first to test its effectiveness.

Recommend having the City put in a 'Compact Car Parking Only' sign on the northeast corner of 13th and Norman Avenue, in front of Gold Star Martial Arts. Carried with a motion by Dale Strehle and a second by Jack Oelschlager.
