Discussion:
Developer Ron Sack shared his concerns with this ordinance. He provided a few drawn-up examples for the Committee, showing what his exact concerns were. City Administrator Tom Ourada explained that this ordinance is a short-term fix that allows some relaxation for developers that were not permitted prior. Ourada also stated that the comprehensive planner will be addressing zoning and design standards as well, so there may well be changes to this in the near future. There are also provisions in which the Mayor and City Administrator can meet with developers on a case by case basis to discuss noncompliant designs and try to come to an agreed-upon solution.
