3.A. Discuss amending fireworks regulations.
Discussion:
Norm Pavlish, part of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Church, who run a fireworks stand every year, spoke about changing the days and times of sales. The reason it was changed to seven days instead of four was to incorporate a weekend into the dates of sales. Pavlish recommended keeping weekend sales possible, as they are the highest due to people being off work and out of school. The Committee agreed that keeping it at seven days allows for weekend sales, and that if a fireworks stand does not want to sell the whole seven days, that they don't have to. June 28th until July 2nd, fireworks may be sold and set off until 10pm, but allowed on the 3rd until 11pm and on the 4th until midnight. To make the times more consistent and less confusing, the Committee thought changing the 3rd and 4th to the same cutoff time would help.
