Discussion:
Pam Busboom motioned to approve the May 20th, 2024 meeting minutes seconded by Larry Shestak. All Board members present voted yes.

3.A. Memorial Day feedback 
Discussion:
Board members felt Riverside Cemetery and Blue River Cemetery looked nice for Memorial Day.

3.B. People who don't have a monument to be on a registry 
Discussion:
Pam Busboom stated that Jerry Boden asked if his sister, Marcia Boden, could be listed on the registry. She was buried at sea, but the board previously approved putting her information other back of her parents' monument. 

After discussion, it was decided that anyone recognized on a monument should be listed on the registry.

Larry Shestak moved and Gene Eggebraaten seconded the motion. All board members present voted yes.

3.C. Request for grant for a pollinator garden 
Discussion:
President Kathy Stastny stated Alison Clevette would like to apply for a grant for the Nebraska Pollinator Habitat Certification Program. 

City Administrator Tom Ourada stated that the City Council had to approve all grants. Ourada noted that pollinator gardens aren't allowed in city limits because bees are a restricted species due to them causing anaphylactic shock in some people. 

Baord members questioned if it would be possible in the field at the Blue River Cemetery. Mr. Ourada said the field is bid out and leased for 3 years. If land was excluded, he things that would be and default on the lease. He will ask the City Attorney. 

Larry Shestak moved to adjourn the meeting and Pam Busboom seconded the motion. All board members present voted yes.

Rationale:
  • Reports may be given by the Mayor, Officers, Departments, or Councilmembers concerning the current operations of the City.
  • No action can be taken on matters presented under this title except to answer any questions or to refer the matter for further action.
Discussion:
The next meeting will be July 29th, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.
