4.B. Consider a recommendation to the City Council on fuel sales at the airport.
|
|
Discussion:
City Administrator Tom Ourada mentioned that the fuel sales had been used to supplement airport management. Aaron Scheppers wanted to continue with the sales. Scheppers is no longer partner with Shaun Kryzcki in the Limited Liability Company they used to have together. Ourada mentioned possible options to restructure the fuel sales contract. - The City engaging in a 50-50 contract with Aaron Scheppers - The City engaging in all fuel sales Ourada mentioned that looking at the big picture and not just the fuel sales there could be an economic impact City Attorney Anna Burge mentioned that there is a clause in the contract that mentioned that they need to maintain them properly. Corr stated that there needs to be documentation to prove maintenance has been kept up to date. Ourada mentioned setting up a meeting with Scheppers and coming up with a compromise. City Attorney Burge mentioned notifying Scheppers of the breach of contract. Even if there is a compromise since the breach has already occurred, the contract can be terminated at anytime. |

4.C. Discuss initiation of consultant selection for capital improvement projects.
|
|
Discussion:
Corr mentioned that Exhibit A is missing and there are different ways of completing Exhibit A . The consultant selection can be done first and then they can update exhibit A and put together the agreement. The Exhibit A can be done first and then the consultant selection.
City Clerk-Teasurer, Jerry Wilcox mentioned that they can both be done simultaneously. Corr mentioned thinking about big projects for next year. Larger projects could possibly be the following: - Parallel taxi way - Realignment of the runway and move back to the end or - A new hangar - remove the parallel taxi way to open up an area to build a T-hangar |

Discussion:
Chris Corr stated that Jeremy Borrell is the new Aeronautics Division Director. He has over 20 years of aeronautics experience and currently serves as the Nebraska National Guard's Airborne Infantry First Sergeant.
City Administrator Tom Ourada explained that the previous Director was pro-privatization of the airport. In a meeting Ourada, Mayor Bauer, and the previous director had with Collin Coneva to discuss privatization of the airport, Coneva stated that he would not be responsible for paying back the FAA the money that would have to be paid back. This was different from what Coneva had mentioned when they had started having conversations about the topic. Ourad asked Clerk-Treasurer Jerry Wilcox to see how much would have to be paid back to the FAA and it is around $5.4 Million dollars. What Coneva was now proposing just doesn't make sense for the City. Greg Hier and Howard Nitzel worked on the following list of projects: -Blain reported some rusted out doors on hangars and that will be worked on Saturday - Astro will be giving a quote to remove the wooden shingles and the work will probably be completed in winter. Chris Corr stated that the BIL funds should be used before they expire. |
