8.a. RAISE Grant Update.
Discussion:
TT - well aware city was awareded 21.3 mil for rerouting Hwy 136 & beautification of Court STreet. Grant agreement sometime within next month. ss4a awarded in may 21st, discussing today about what may be in grant agreement. funds have to be obligated by Sept 2025 & spent by Sept ________??
Barnard - fact sheet? property tax, bids, lots of confusion, put on Facebook to clarify what this project is actually about. Fairbanks - any idea how this will be billed out? TT - typically a reimbursement. some recently have sent a check & send back receipts. that will be in grant agreement. TF - anticipating this, do we need to be working on incraeseing general fund to build up? TT _ possible, depends upon turnaround. York acquired 2 years ago, still building their trail, not broken ground yet. can discuss reimbursement etc., TD - anything help generally with, so many questions so correct information is given out. a time to thank people - not a new project in community. start with Pete Ricketts secretary? called to congratulate. if senator gave letter of support set down with secretary of state - worth while to have those sent. bob leadership, not gotten through where it is today without him leading, "transformity". TT & TR - read grant, huge amount of data included, big deal, James & his staff - pass along to department head mtg. MM basking in glory, thank them formally for group as well.looking like that decision may have been best decision. Main Street Board, Chamber, NGage also helped support this grant as well. being positive. not just bob & administrative staff, asked T to go back, had 12 different meetings in last 15 years...been a lot of discussion, 40 some years ago was in comp plan, proud of all votes taken 8-0 to move this project forward. thank for being behind this project. proud of what we have done here. ability to transform the community, wrote 2 grants & got $40,000 moved businesses & homes out of floodplain, most were happy it occurred, gave us parks and trail system. last thing close to what we are doing here. big project will fundamentally change our community Ted - terry was driver, would have died without him rallying the troops, one of reason decided to run again, strong work & ready to move forward Mayor - senator fischer's office as well, $21.3 mill blessing, us & north platter received a planning grant. 2033 to have major transofrmation into the city. work is just beginning, help from other entities & CC, simply moving highway not answer, need to go to work on court street businesses to plan & start taking steps now to beautify downtown. lot of partnerships. pleased to add this to our community, more than that, # that will take this to be completed, increase on sales tax & others. whole lot more to come, stay tuned. Kerr - tie to linocln & paddock school sites & get those moving as well. Mayor- set goals to accomplish, this was a major step, have made plans & know housing is an issue, need to have more spaces available. need to figure out next steps. exciting factor to get that $ to infuse into the community. |
