4.3.3. Nine Member Board to a Six Member Board
Speaker(s):  Lisa Pieper
Discussion:  Pat - Couple of items. Why 9-6 how this came about. Also should we have 9-6. Checked with the attorney. 6member is standard, but can have 9. To change we have have motion in December to do this. Checked the number of disticts have 9 and have 6 of 18 looked at only have 9 rest has six. At COW the Board began to look not a real strong opinion. Needed whole board to disucss. Only had 5 at COW. Need to discuss to move forward or do we let it go for now. Jim - 6 member board motoin was ontable and tie it would die and then need an amened motions. Would have have 4 in attendance? Yes. Jim election 3 each time. Would big issues cause problems as easier to take over board. Lisa quarom yes of 4 but time of 3 to 3 tied. Sometimes this makes meetings last long because. 9 to 6 no strong feeling, but might be. eliminating some opions Randy no strong feeling COW there were good points. Some very positve. Hard sometimes to manage a large Board. Larger school more representation with 9. Change is hard for our community. Randy does not see a board member leading the charge. Maybe with absent of this. Mitch - it is sometimes to get people to run - no strong feelings. This has been a problem when have 4 seats to fill. Have not had a primay in 10 years. Janet strong people have adequate representation. Some more comfortable talking to others. Janet either way. Lisa no strong feelings one way or another. Just stay with nine.
