Discussion:  Summer work - drive by HS orange blvd closed for road work for 2 weeks by the city, which is repairing this. Start of school culvert street 26th and Lincoln in Sept or October for 2-3 days. Hwy 77 when bridge south would be complete. End of April or May 18 weeks then start south of bridge on 77. Visted with 1st student - may affect bus start times. Great job our tech people ours and ESU 5 rework. Went smooth. Are aware might be some small items that works and other that do not. So may have a few issues spotty. PL carpet down and tile is waiting in preschool/ MS roof complete HS - parking lot done, carpet in inst room waiting for carpet in music room. Carpet our of the library old. The floor in Hevelone waiting for activities to settle down then will begin working on it. Nemaha to fix red shale in shot put area. Plan back this week. Painting some will be done, but might have to do come at Christmas time with all the activities. Central Office insulation and technology is done. Admin Reteat July 24 and 25 1/2 day retreats. Admin days Aug 30-Sept 1 Daily Sun Emily new representative.

Discussion:  Procedure if drop off is not safe. Added the procedure/plan to the policy. We do have a process, but now need to add it to policy. Supplemental Information will be found in our Safety Plan
6.4. 1st Reading of Policy 3530 Procedures - Bidding Construction Projects

Discussion:  Procedure changes the amount from 80,000 without having a bond now $100,000. 86,000 to 100,000. Change in Statute so our policy aligns.
6.5. 1st Reading of Policy 4065 Tobacco Use Prohibited

Discussion:  Not only here in our Policy 5560 Student Displine. Addition of e-cig or vapor products are not allowed.
6.6. 1st Reading of Policy 5120 Attendance

Discussion:  Several changes. Pat sent the Board information on this policy/ School excused absences and not excused. Lots of changes in overall policy. Committee of Admin working on this to be updated at August COW. Cuts out some items then focus on reporting absences to the county attorney. This allows some flexible once the hit 20, but we can advise the county attorney that we know why and it was okay.
6.7. 1st Reading of Policy 5560 Student Discipline, Suspension and Expulsion

Discussion:  Tobaco products and other new items we did not have. May put some of these new items in AR.
6.8. 1st Reading of Policy 6283 Concussions

Discussion:  Update on page 2 item d - return to learn developing a protocal. Working with Neal with what the protocal for return to learn will do. Infrom at Cow about the protocal.
6.9. 1st Reading of Policy 6285 Middle School Sports

Discussion:  New Policy - Deal with student participation between schools K-6 no athletic contests. Looking at 8th grade same as High School. This is an adequate reflection of what we are doing.
6.10. 1st Reading of Policy 9110 Number of Members, Terms of Office, and Vacancies

Discussion:  Played with policy. Takes affect in January 2015. At a 6 member board. Came from Perry Law Firm. Not much different that our current policy Terms of Office and 45 days to fill. AR is what seemed to be a concern. Some like the AR some want more structure. Pat asked for input. The policy will not be affected. Doris wants more structed, much more spelled out. Developl AR and bring next time he will do.
