Discussion:
Ralph Paez extended his congratulations to Dr. Bree Rock on her recent appointment as Bear Cub Preschool Principal. Paul Snyder thanked all Scottsbluff Schools staff members for the cards and gifts that were given to the Board members during School Board Recognition Week in January. Snyder noted he especially appreciated the meaningful notes expressing thanks and appreciation. Beth Merrigan also thanked staff members for the cards, gifts, and appreciation during School Board Recognition Week. Tory Schwartz remarked this winter has been challenging so far and he would like to thank Director of Facilities Travis Rickey and the entire maintenance team for their extra efforts.

Discussion:
Superintendent Dr. Andrew Dick shared he and Board member Mark Lang recently attended Lake Minatare Elementary's annual soup supper. Dr. Dick stated this fundraiser, which served almost 500 people, was a remarkable event that speaks to the culture of the community at Lake Minatare Elementary. Dr. Dick also commended Dr. Wendy Kemling and her team for the work and innovation that resulted in Scottsbluff Schools being awarded a School-Based Mental Health Grant. Scottsbluff Schools was awarded nearly $6.3 million, which Dr. Dick noted is the largest competitive award in the District's history. He also noted this grant will allow SBPS to expand mental health support to students within the District, while also investing back into our local economy.
