BE IT RESOLVED AND CERTIFIED that a proposed Budget Hearing and Budget Summary was duly published, as required by law, and that a Hearing was held on the 12th day of September, 2022, and that the following amounts shown herein are duly approved and adopted as the maximum amounts to be expended for the ensuing budget year. THE BOARD FURTHER CERTIFIES the amounts shown to be raised by taxation are within statutory tax limitation. The 2022-2023, Scottsbluff Public Schools, Scottsbluff District 32, Requirements from taxation are: FUND General Fund $17,045,444 Qualified Capital Purpose Undertaking $504,636 Bond Fund $3,588,717 Special Building Fund $616,869 The following budget totals are adopted in the amount of: General Fund $61,608,634 Building Fund $3,365,487 Cafeteria Fund $2,954,623 Depreciation Fund $4,602,080 Employee Benefit Fund $500,000 Qualified Capital Purpose Undertaking $969,297 Cooperative $480,000 School Activities $1,800,000 Student Fees $50,000 Bond Fund $5,405,443 Motion to adopt the 2022-2023 Budget Resolution as presented. RESOLUTION SETTING THE PROPERTY TAX REQUEST WHEREAS, Nebraska Revised Statute 77-1632 and 77-1633 provides that the Governing Body of Scottsbluff Public Schools passes by a majority vote a resolution or ordinance setting the tax request; and WHEREAS, a special public hearing was held as required by law to hear and consider comments concerning the property tax request; NOW, THEREFORE, the Governing Body of Scottsbluff Public Schools resolves that: The 2022-2023 property tax request be set at: General Fund: $17,045,444.00 Bond Fund: $3,588,717.00 Special Building Fund: $616,869.00 Qualified Capital Purpose Undertaking Fund: $504,636.00 The total assessed value of property differs from last year's total assessed value by 3.69 percent. The tax rate which would levy the same amount of property taxes as last year, when multiplied by the new total assessed value of property would be 1.268435 per $100 of assessed value. Scottsbluff Public Schools proposes to adopt a property tax request that will cause its tax rate to be 1.293344 per $100 of assessed value. Based on the proposed property tax request and changes in other revenue, the total operating budget of Scottsbluff Public Schools will increase (or decrease) last year's budget by -0.62 percent. A copy of this resolution be certified and forwarded to the County Clerk on or before October 15, 2022. Motion to approve the 2022-2023 Tax Request Resolution as presented.
