Beth Merrigan thanked Jodi Benson for her years of service to Scottsbluff Public Schools and Bear Cub Preschool. Paul Snyder, Scott Reisig, and Mark Lang all welcomed Ralph Paez and Tory Schwartz to the Board of Education as new members. Mark expressed how impressed he was with December's orchestra concert led by teacher Ashley Hillman, stating there was a full auditorium. Ralph thanked the group for welcoming him to the Board.

Dr. Andrew Dick extended his official welcome to new Board members Ralph Paez and Tory Schwartz. Dr. Dick echoed Beth Merrigan's congratulations to Bear Cub Principal Jodi Benson and remarked that her upcoming retirement is bittersweet. Dr. Dick stated he has considered it a privilege to work alongside Jodi, and commented on the remarkable growth of Bear Cub Preschool under her leadership.
Dr. Dick also stated tonight was a great reminder of the high level of achievement consistently reached by Scottsbluff Public School students, as well as the quality of educators, as many students were joined by staff tonight to receive recognition. Dr. Dick remarked it is rare to see this level of excellence at other districts, and all the awards presented tonight were also representative of the talent and dedication of the staff, teachers, sponsors, and all others who work with our district's students. Dr. Dick stated he was excited to celebrate these students and staff tonight, and that it is his privilege to tell the District's story. |
