1.E. Public Participation

2.A. Health Science Small Learning Community Presentation
Rationale:  Adrienne Carney, a representative of the new high school health science small learning community advisory committee, will report to the Board of Education on plans for the SLC in that area.
2.B. Career Education Month Presentation
Rationale:  Mrs. Gifford and Mrs. Fransk will report on activities planned in observance of Career Education Month.
2.C. Facilities Report
Rationale:  Kent Cordes from BD Construction will report to the Board of Education on progress being made in the new high school project, the Horizon addition and renovation project, and the Sunrise addition and renovation project.

Rationale:  Dr. Moon will report to the Board of Education on recent activity in the Nebraska Unicameral as it relates to education.
2.E. Follow-up Report from the Board of Education Special Retreat Meeting
Rationale:  Dr. Virginia Moon and Board President, Angie Nickel, will report on the topics discussed at the recent Board Retreat.

3.D. Ratification of the Negotiated Agreement with the Kearney Education Association for the 2016-2017 School Year
Rationale:  The Board of Education has completed the negotiations process with the Kearney Education Association for contract terms for the 2016-2017 school year, so we will ask the Board of Education to ratify the negotiated agreement.
Recommended Motion(s):  Move to ratify the negotiated agreement with the Kearney Education Association for all non-supervisory certificated employees of the Kearney Public Schools for the 2016-2017 schoolyear, as presented.
3.E. Approval of Additional Position for the 2016-2017 School Year
Rationale:  We are recommending that the Board of Education employ an additional Family and Consumer Science teacher at the High School due to increased enrollments in this area of study.
Recommended Motion(s):  Move to approve the employment of an additional Family and Consumer Science teacher at Kearney High School, for the 2016-2017 school year.
4. Regular Agenda - Personnel
4.A. Acceptance of Resignation
Rationale:  We have received a letter of resignation from Michelle Barry, 6th grade teacher at Horizon Middle School, effective the end of the 2015-2016 school year.  We will ask that the Board of Education accept this resignation, with regret, effective the end of the 2015-2016 school year.

Recommended Motion(s):  Move to employ Macie Wippel, BA, Step 1, as the Agriculture Teacher at Kearney High School for the 2016-2017 school year, contingent upon her ability to obtain Nebraska teacher certification.
